Massage Envy Fredericksburg in Virginia just announced that they will be sponsoring their client Patricia Boord in her journey to the World Masters Bench Press Championship, as she was recently named a member of Team USA. Boord was overweight and a diabetic, but turned to massage therapy in Fredericksburg, VA at Massage Envy and weight lifting to turn her health around.
Boord started her journey towards better health in 2006 when she joined Massage Envy Fredericksburg and began seeing one of their massage therapists in Fredericksburg, VA, Christina Amaya, along with her trainer Peggy Hayes. One of the things I have come to rely on are my bi-weekly massages with Christina, says Boord. I train hard and my muscles take a beating, but Christina just fixes them all. I consider my visits to her just as important as the time I spend in the gym.
Since 2006, Boord has lost 54 pounds, no longer takes insulin and has discontinued taking two blood pressure medications. This past year, Boord won the 100% Raw Virginia State Championship/American Challenge National Bench Press Championship, the 100% Raw Eastern US Open, the USAPL National Bench Press Championship. She is now qualified for the World Masters Bench Press Championship and a member of Team USA.
