Enrollment is now open for American College of Nursing (ACN) in Concord CA, for classroom instruction, with online nursing programs immanent during the 2012-13 academic year. Space is available in the following nursing disciplines — Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) Program; Psychiatric Technician (PT) Program and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Program. In addition to these three programs, American College of Nursing (ACN) also offers Continuing Education (CE) Classes for current nurses. These classes include: IV Certification & Blood Withdrawal, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and NCLEX-RN/PN Review.

Certified Nursing Assistant Program

The entry-level CNA course provides aspiring nurses with superior basic knowledge about the nursing sector, combining theoretical knowledge and practical training sessions. CNA Training lasts 174-hours or 23 days, and upon completion, CNA students can sit for the State Certified Nurse Assistant Program.

Vocational Nursing Program

The VN certificate program covers everything a student needs to be capable of giving safe and efficient nursing care to the patients, under the supervision of a physician or registered nurse. Integrating scientific and holistic approaches, the goal of the VN program is to produce well trained graduates who serve in various health care environments. Its a 12-month program and upon completion of the program graduates receive a Certificate of Completion from the college and become eligible to take the state licensing examination (NCLEX-PN).

Psychiatric Technician Program

PT Program students learn to care for the patients bodies and minds. This 12 month certificate mixes behavioral sciences into the standard nursing curriculum. Students will learn to properly indentify the behavior characteristics of various mental illnesses, and how best to meet mentally ill peoples physical, mental and emotional, needs. Those students completing this course can sit for the state licensing examination i.e. the NCLEX-PT.

LVN to BSN

ACN, in cooperation with Holy Names University, now provides a LVN to BSN nursing program.

Hybrid Online Nursing Programs
